New to here

Hello. My name is Joshua Briggs and I'm the owner of Briggs Lawn Service based out of Clarkston, MI. Believe it or not, what started me with the whole mowing thing was I'd mow my grandparents yard on the weekends in middle school.

After high school I started up my own business and only had a used $15 weed whipper and a handheld snow blower for small equipments and an MTD push mower and MTD tractor. Year later my dad bought a Craftsman tractor. When they both died he bought a new Craftsman tractor. I have a Toro weed whipper and a Toro push mower that I bought in early 2013 and an Echo blower I bought in 2011. Today I'm actually working on getting a Big Dog 60" zero turn mower and a 14' trailer to expand my company.

I heard many stories about how this site helped a lot of my friends and thought I'd join. I could use all the tips and tricks to help me succeed. Oh and if you are interested, I'm thinking about possibly a partnership among mowers in other counties like Monroe, lapeer, and genessee County as I work with North Bloomfield Properties on vacant houses and hate to waste gas going everywhere.

Oh yeah. also does anyone have any good tips on insurance? I've been looking around and hate to be paying too much for too little.

I would suggest to stick with exmark, scag, and toro for mowers. Don't buy the cheapest mower you can find because with that you get terrible quality.

Second that! Getting professional equipment means parts (blades, filters, etc...) will be easier to locate too.

Best of luck!
