I was leaving a phone message for one company and as I was doing so I realized "and hey, the image right below that belongs to my former bosses, which I know because I designed and photographed THAT one too. That needs to come down as well or I'm calling them." Ridiculous.

Well buddy, hate to say this, but unless you had a watermark on the images as I have recommended on THIS forum for the last 8-10 yrs......guess who the real "idiot" is

C'mon now people, would you park you car at the mall parking lot and leave the doors unlocked with your valuables in plain view??? Its just like crime, and as my police officer friends always say "crime prevention begins with YOU".

You can purchase Photo Shop and insert watermarks with photoshop, that's what's been used for my pictures (but I have a family member do it for me as I don't have photoshop).

Or, a friend of mine told me there are programs you can download from the internet that will allow you to place watermarks on photos. I believe you must pay for the download, but it's probably cheaper than buying Photoshop.

and like I said, there are ways around watermarks unless you want to essentially obliterate the whole image.

Well that's a given.

Anything you put on the Internet is AN ASSUMED RISK!!!!

like I said in an earlier post in this thread - if someone wants to go to the trouble to remove my watermark - then they've earned that picture.

Again, think about it, would you pirate an image with a watermark that will require software, time, and effort to remove....or would you pirate an image with NO watermark??

Me, I would go after the unmarked picture.

I lock my house doors at night. Not because I think that will stop an intruder from entering, but because I want them to make noise when they enter so they make the dog bark which will wake me.

Two terms that lawnsite members can expect to hear from me in 2014:
1) behavorial science
2) business instinct

Image pirating falls into the category of behavorial science.
