Hello everybody!

Hi. My name's Greg. I live in Peoria Illinois and am starting up a solo landscape and lawn care business and i need some help on how to properly do certain things. first thing i want to appreciate my love for this site and how beautiful it is to see so many people support other people. I just want to know whats the best book(s) to learn landscaping, lawn care, and maybe a little bit about how to make it a business. Thanks to all that reply.

Welcome from Fort Worth, Texas.

Don't downplay the importance of knowing how to run a successful business.

I'd suggest focusing more than just "a little bit" on how to create a successful business.

Read the E Myth Landscape Contractor by Michael E. Gerber

E myth is a great suggestion directly pertaining to our industry. Be the best at what matters most by Joe calloway is another fantastic book (I just got done reading it a second time) I have a few books that are more encyclopedias of flowers directed at the Midwest that I don't recall the names of now. I found them all on an Amazon search.

Like aw said focus on learning business and hire people that know landscaping.

I can tell you the longest wait at the library is a book called something like 1000 Spanish Words Commonly Used in Landscaping. My wife and I snicker everytime we think of that. I like re-reading http://www.amazon.com/Best-Guerrilla.../dp/1599184222 but it's not specific to any industry, and is not a how to business book so much.

Welcome, and good luck.
