Mowing and Landscaping

Got a pretty good question for everyone on here that does either commercial landscaping or lawn mowing. How do you acquire these accounts? Do you just send them an estimate or do you go and talk to the manager/owner and then send them an estimate?? I have been mowing residential lawns for almost 10 years now but would really like to do some commercial jobs this summer both for landscaping and for lawn mowing. I have just got my foot in the door of the landscaping world and so I REALLY don't know how the whole thing works.

Thanks

I dunno, I jus got a call today from Idaho, where I used to live.
I only answered it because I assumed it was an old friend from that state.

It ended up being a landscape company from Idaho, and then I was like
what the frick do YOU want? (not a current or former client)

So apparently they picked up a batch of commercial jobs which have 8 satellites in Alaska (they're banks, and loan offices etc)
and they need someone to do these jobs for them, because they can get the ones in Idaho/washington/Oregon, but obviously not AK.

They asked me because they knew of me in Idaho and wanted work of the type/style and quality front he lower 48… and not the "things work different here 'its alaska'" mentality that everyone has up here.

So, sometimes? Stuff just finds YOU instead of the other way around.

It's not the first time Ive been asked to do stuff, and I know other guys on here have similar stories.

It just takes being in business and building reputation for a while….very rarely is it POOF I've got big commercial jobs my first year in business…. unless you know someone and are connected.
