What is the Next Step up from pushing a spreader? This power pod?

http://www.csturfequip.com/product/5...ERPODONLY.aspx

We currently service about 300,000 square feet of most residential properties. Not enough for me to buy a $6-$10K ride on spreader/sprayer, but I am looking into the self propelled spreader options (now I do all liquid chemicals with a backpack sprayer) do you think this power pod is a good option? Anyone use anything like this?

there are a few options for ride on machines in that price range
lesco hps- now rebadged a cub cadet model
ground logic rover

i have checked out the powerpod in person, but i have not used it
no hand ons experience-- has an aerator attachment for it as well

ive found that multifunction machines are often not quite as nice
as a dedicated purpose machine--but who knows, any one have a powerpod?

Fertilizer really corrodes anything made of steel. An older model used Permagreen might suit your needs. Visit the permagreen site and shop for used permagreens.

300,000 sqft is an easy day with a good push spreader. I would not even consider buying a ride on at this point.

WOW 300,000 sq ft, pushing a spreader over 7 acres of grass a day is for the birds. Get your self a used ride-on and knock out an acre in about 20 minutes. If the lawns were larger you could cut your time in 1/2 or more that you spend on a lawn. I can pull up to a 1 acre lot and fertilize it, while spot spraying at the same time and be done in about 20 minutes. No walking required. Now if it were July and 100 degrees outside that same lot would take me an hour to push then go back and walk around and spot spray. One addition I spray has 7 one acre lots side by side, I would spend all day on those lots pushing and spot spraying, but riding it is just the first part of my morning route. Now for small lots I dont even get the ride-on off the trailer, it is faster for me to push it than to ride it. You may look at the HPS by cub cadet it can be retro fitted with a sprayer in the future if you decide to start spraying with it. Its light, tough and very easy to use. Only drawback would be rust. Not a lot of SS on it.

I understood that he only has 300,000 sqft total. If that is all I had to do no way would I spend 6-10K on a rider. Like I said that is a good push day.

Ebay has a lesco hps ride on for $1650.00 with shipping options. That is a nice price. Just do a ebay search for lesco.

for that kind of sq footage. keep the push spreader and trade the back pack for a 50 gallon sprayer. Used for about 4-500 bucks. We did not even consider more than that until we got our first big commercial account.
