Walker running rough

Guy has a Walker for sale. Engine was blown. Replaced with a 16hp, and it's running rough now. What should I ask? It's about 2hrs away. I've had a 16hp walker before. Just wondering what could make it run rough?

Thanks

Plugs, dirty carb., dirty air filter., stale gas. Could be a lot of things.

Finally heard back from the seller. The 16hp that he put in was used. He didn't know how many hrs., and he said it was fueled by propane. He took the carb off the blown engine and put it on the replacement.

So is it running good now?
That's the only question that matters.

A machine that isn't running right no longer falls under the 'used' category and should be considered good only for parts / repair.

Saw the machine on craigslist. I'd gamble on it. Doesn't look like its in to bad of shape. Could be old fuel gelled up in the carb. Especially if it sat.

It does look in decent shape. Only 640 hrs on the machine, but the used mower that was put in has an unknown amount of hours. Would be great project or parts mower for the right price.

Check the pin that holds the throttle plate. Mine used to wear quickly and the plate would wobble around making the engine run poorly.
