i have an 87 chevy half ton. the problem i am having is when i stop for a while it cuts off on me. but i doesnt do this when i first start it. it only does it when its been running for a while. also after it dies and i crank it again it takes a little while before it will do it again. so hopefully someone can help me. be free to email me uncadave@hotmail.com

Might try the fuel filter,or do you think you might have gotten some bad fuel,lastly plugs and wires when was the last time they were changed?

Carbuerator or fuel injection? The Quadrajets are kinda quirky.

The fuel filter should be inline along the frame rail, I think along the p***enger side. Also I had troubles with the fuel pump pick up, and the fuel pump its self. There is a small rubber piece of hose that allows for movement in the pick up. Usually if that breaks you will lose all fuel supply to the engine, however if it has a small crack or pin hole it will lose fuel pressure.
