2014 hps 90 day review

The updated model hps has some improvements over past models. The subuaru engine runs great and has substantially more torque than the previous kawasakis. I replaced a Kawasaki with a 6.5 briggs on one of my units last season, I think the subuaru is at the very least equal to the briggs torque wise! The front axle frame work has been beefed up substantially including protection for the tranny and roll pinned washers on the inside of the bearings to keep them from backing out under stress. They added an on/off switch, incorporated a debris screen into the hopper, and added side brackets to the sulky to tie down the machine in transport. The engine is easy to service and fully accessible! The factory propulsion settings are slow. Adjust the hydros (faster) calibrate the hopper and you are off and running with a nice reliable fertilizing machine!

I think my unit has the 28. I see they have made other changes in the newer units as well, the hopper cable set up is much heavier now!
