Tree Stake

I'm planting 5-100 gallon High Rise Oak, and 17 Red Maple 30 gallon, should I use tie wire or some type of rope or twine to stake them?

Please do not be the person who ties anything DIRECTLY to the tree. Use rubber hose or some kind of casing to protect the trees trunk and not allow it to grow around the cordage. I prefer baling twine but most cordage works.
