Wise words for you if you want to look professional and intelligent.

A Toyota Prius + Large Magnets with your companies logo. If you want to save a few bucks, you can find an 05' Prius for 6K range and a set of magnets for $50.00. $6,050. bucks will give you a professional image and will pay itself off in gas very, very quickly.

That's what every company around me uses. They have fleets of them for their office people.

I've been looking hard at them. Around here the vast majority of large companies run Prius' for their estimators.

Tru story:

many years back, I was given the task of buying new estimator vehicles for the fleet, while working as fleet manager at TruGreen.

my Budget was 25k per vehicle.
We needed 9 vehicles.
25k would not buy an f250 4x4.
The vehicles had to get x miles per gallon and a gas f250 did not meet the criteria, and a diesel did, but was more than 25k, the dealer wouldn't come down far enough for 9 vehicles.
I looked into ford ranger 4x4s but they didn't have enough white ones left, in a period of time I had to complete the acquisition.
The guy said, hey, do they HAVE to be 4x4s?
I looked at the PO request… no, they just have to be fords, and read off the other requirements….

He says: "I have 11 white 5.0 mustangs I need to get rid of, if you buy 9, Ill let you have them for 17,500 each"

Long story short, the vehicles made the MPG and price requirement and we had the fastest response time to get an estimator to a job out of any location.
for some reason… management overlooked my customary raise that quarter…. what did they want? I saved them 8k per vehicle on those acquisitions?

And there's a very good reason for it also. We have one, average about 50 miles out of it per gallon. The only thing that will be weird is going from a loud truck, to the Prius is almost dead silence. You can't even hear it's running. You wouldn't be disappointed though, in fact seeing the gas hand not move in comparism to that truck would put a smile on your face. Not to mention the Prius is built by Toyota. I mean look at the mileage on all the older 2000-2001 Prius's on Craigslist.

The Porsche just sends the wrong message. Heck I want to wrap an SSR to use for sales calls and I think it is to much. Nice clean truck or small car professionally lettered. No magnetic signs, they tell the world you are a part timer. No offense to you guys with magnetics but I always wonder how many different sets you have. One for mowing, one for painting, one for a handyman service etc.

I used to run a saturn kinda for the same reasons stated here.

Fuel as only $1.34 at the time… a lot of me just got tired of unhitching the rig from the trailer at night, to drive around and do estimates, just easier to park rig and get into saturn…

But I was 28 at the time, and I had A LOT of prospects ask me "do you even OWN a truck?" I stopped driving the saturn.

customers expect to see, what they expect to see.
