Winter apps and rain

Got a few late calls and trying to finish up all my apps for rd 1.

Wonder what you guys think the rain fast of 3 way is in the winter? Few days?

Wonder if I'm safe on a day with highs in mid 50s followed by the potential of .6" rain the next day? I would love to get them finished!!

My experiment in 2011 seemed to say that rain after 5 or 15 minutes was too soon--weed control washed off.
But rain at 45 minutes later resulted in no loss of weed control effectiveness.

Surfactant increased the percentage kill.

Riggle

I agree with your findings when things are warm and weeds/grass are growing steady.

What about when it's cold and grass isn't growing or weeds aren't as active. Think your time frame would hold up? Would the time to absorb the herbicides increase since pore and growth is slow

Good question, Wilson. I don't know.
However, I tried weed control last year in cold weather, November 12, 2013. It was 23 degrees overnight and 34 degrees when applied. I used dandelions.

Speedzone worked almost as well as in warm weather in late fall.
.

Cold spring and rain--someone needs to test this.
