Varies by state. Md is 10k truck

If his truck isn't lettered I wouldn't worry about. At least until he got it home

Congrats on the machine.

Man, do y'all have to turn every equipment or truck/trailer thread into an argument about CDL laws.

There was no reason to in the first place. People are severely misinformed about the laws

Yes they are. Only reason I know anything is we had a state trooper truck enforcement as a guest speaker at an irrigation asso. annual meeting a few yrs back. To be perfectly honest with ya, before that I was clueless.

When people are looking at cdl requirement they say the 10k+ number for trailers and automatically assume a 12k trailer needs one.

It does not. A 26001 and a 100001 trailer needs a class A. That's what they are referring to.

A 10k truck and 16k trailer does not need one because they are under 26001 combined.

BUT you can have a 25999 and a 10000 trailer and not need one.

a DRW will, or the brand new SRW one tons look like they have a 11k rating... getting kind of crazy. Older SRW are normally sub 10k though...
