Finally, I bought a SHOP!

I'm going into my 4th year in business and will finally be moving the madness from my home to a dedicated shop. I've been working on purchasing a shop since after my first year but they all fell through for one reason or another. I waited patiently for 6 months for this deal to close. I lost hope a few times but had nothing else on the radar and did not want to rent a shop so I held in there and stayed patient. Well, I finally closed and today was the first day I was able to get in there. The shop is less than 1 mile from my home and is zoned commercial. So at this point I am glad everything else fell through cause this was meant to be. The shop is a 24 x 48. It has 7 air compressor hookups, tons of lights, phone line, water line, 3 220 line hookups, & a wood burning stove. For entry it has a man door, power garage door, and large sliding door. The lot is 3 acres. I have tons of room! There is also a 1400 sq ft house on the property that I will be converting into an office. Everything works in it, its just old and needs updating. I have no plans to ever live in it but it will make a nice office and place to eat or go to the bathroom. I'm so pumped for this year and years to come. I can finally start to really expand my business now that Im out of the house.

Upon moving in, I was left with all this old junk. I spent 5 hours today with some help sorting through stuff and cleaning it out. I'll be there every day until I get this place gutted and then I can start setting it up and making some repairs. Plans for security system, motion lights, security cameras and fully fencing in a large portion are also going to be happening in the upcoming weeks and months.

Congrats. I would love to buy a shop but renting makes more since right now. I should close on a 2yr lease on a property this week.

I'm buying the wife a new house first to raise our two boys. Then my shop comes.

Again congrats.

It makes me so happy to see so many guys moving into shops this spring....

I love seeing guys progressing and doing good...

That looks like a great space..

Don't throw out those saw blades on the wall!

And what is that? Some sort of cast or leg brace from the 50's?!?!

Everything in the garage was from the house. They cleaned out the home when they put it on the market and packed the garage. So much stuff is from the 40's and 50's. Im throwing out whatever looks like junk and boxing up anything that might be worth something and sticking it back into the house. I don't have time to go through everything with a fine tooth comb just yet. I need the garage operational as the season will be starting soon. That thing is a leg brace yes lol. If anybody views my work thread, youll notice this property has a resemblance. Kind of a neat little back story to this whole thing....
