Help with Quote

Hello-
So I got a job where I need to grind 6 stumps, mulch, and place 5 shrubs on a 20' x 3' bed.

The client keeps changing his mind. I've wasted a lot of time finding what he needs (which keeps changing even though I've made him .jpg s through google sketch up of what I'm planning to do!!!! hahaha) and preparing quotes which I thought to be on the low end, maybe I'm actually giving a high quote.

One quote was about 1,410 for some less expensive shrubs,
I found some great more mature plants that were more expensive and the highest quote was around 1,900.

He told me yesterday to not even put any plants in and just to do part of the job being as ambiguous as possible... probably to get me to reduce my price which is really irritating... I dont want to mulch an area for shubs without the proper preparation.. but this seems to be what he wants... for now....

Would you abandon a client who keeps wasting time, rearranging what they want done, not giving a clear idea even after you try to ask a few times?

I'm thinking about just grinding his stumps but its hard to communicate with him...

Thankyou!

I wouldn't waste too much time on him. Sounds like you have given a variety of quotes so your prices are set and let him choose. They will come around they usually do. I know its a decent payout but there is not much more you can do.
