new season, new customers?

Hi all!
How many customers have y'all been able to pick up in y'all's first year of doing lawn care full time? What is your main method of picking up new customers? I plan to put out 5K fliers next season in hopes of getting a 1 to 2 % success rate...is this possible in our market??? Thanks!

Hello folks. Another new guy. Been reading site for months but first posting. Sons wanted to start business mid-summer and they are too young to do it by themselves so I am helping. We only have a couple of regular customers. Their first commercial job was given to them by their grandfather, but is too big to use 21 " mowers. Trying to find at least a 31" but would go bigger if price is right. Will also need a trailor when we make this purchase. We are having no luck finding stuff in paper. Anyone have any ideas or know where we can find some cheaper used equipment? Thks in advance for any help.

J&J - If your friend is interested in selling that 36" Lesco, tell him to call or email me. I would be interested in talking to him.

Thanks for the information. I know it is probably a good deal, but still a little more than I was wanting to pay. Think I will wait and see if we can find anything else. Appreciate your help
