Logo Ideas? Pros/cons for this design

I have finally decided its time to get a logo, and hopefully letter my trucks and trailers! Let me know what you guys think, a friend of mine is doing the design.

The Navy color is to show how it would look on a polo/shirt

I think you're on the right track. Even though all of the components are simple, it's a bit overdone. Losing the 3D bump-out of the house would probably streamline it. The lightning, while I get the point of it, isn't the greatest integration. 15% of the logo helps to double the overall visual space your logo is required to take up. What this means is that, when it comes time to use the logo in certain layouts, such as a web site or business card, you're going to have to work with the issues provided by having only one part of the logo have a tall component (the lightning bolt), potentially leaving a lot of dead space.

The house/tree/lightning needs to be simpler, it doesn't seem right. Use only 1-3 colors. If you notice most major companies (Fedex,UPS,Home Depot,Lowes) all use 2-3 colors.

Messed around with this a couple minutes in PS, to give you some ideas.

Another thing I wanted to be sure to have was something to show that I am not strictly residential. So, much more simple, 3 colors or less, and more commercial friendly? Anything else jump out to you guys?

I'd see if you can work the lightning bolt into a letter.

Do yourself a favor and get a professional company to do a logo for you, I don't think it looks all that great. Almost looks like clip art to me.

Your logo should make some sense (its confusing) .. but if you are cool with it so be it.
