tractor advise

I am looking at buying a tractor. This will mainly be for the land we have at the house. (25 acres). We are getting a few acres a year cleared and bringing it to pasture. I am also looking at getting a seeder for the three point hitch and getting mulch in bulk to the shop and using it to load mulch while the skid is jobs. This is my list of wants i think:

Loader
4wd
25-30 hp
hydro would be nice

Not sold on any brand price will be an issue not a deal breaker tho. any help on what to look for.

your loading height on a 25 -30 hp tractor is going to be very low. Mowing 25 acres 4-5' at a pass is going to suck! Personally buy some thing that you can run a decent bush hog with and load over the side of a stake body truck but small enough to use with a 3 pt aerator on peoples lawns

I pull a areator with the zspray. I would be running a land pride seeder. I also use a dump trailer with higher sides so it's not that high. Not all the land is cleared yet but yeah
s 5 ft at a time would suck

If you are looking for a tractor for that size job I would look into Mahindra. You can either look at the 16 series which is 3016 or 3616. Both of those are available in Hydro or Shuttle. If you need something a little bigger look at the 10 series. They are offered in a 40, 50 and 60hp tractor. The 5010 KrayzKajun mentioned is a awesome tractor. It is rated at 50hp and will handle a larger mower to get you property cut fast. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions.

cutting fast is not a big deal we don't cut it to often and will be about 3 years before it is all pasture.

The 5010 is still a smaller sized tractor. It is a little bigger than a 3616 but not by much. About the same size difference between a 3000 and 4000 series Deere machines. A 4010 Mahindra will handle a 6' cutter a 5010 up to 8' and a 6010 0r 6110 up to a 10'. A 3616 or 3016 will handle a 5' cutter. The difference between the 2 tractor series is the lift capacity and ability to use larger implements in the future for not much price difference.

I have a JD 1023 . If I knew more when I bought it I would have bought bigger. Im only using it for 6.3 acres , grading driveway , moving firewood ect . Myself I would go with 30+ hp if I was to do it again.

Kubota! You pay more for them, but they are worth it! I have thousands of hours on 4 different kubota tractors over the past 14 years. Never once had one break down on a job!
