That's a good question. I kinda have a feeling, being Exmark OEM parts, there may be a roadblock to mail order. But who knows The dealer I just bought my new Lazer from doesn't even have the factory blades, all of their's are aftermarket. If I remember correctly the MSRP wasn't crazy high on them either. A little discount and they wouldn't be much more than aftermarket stuff. In the few hours I have used the mower, I really like the way they cut and I tend to buy a lot of blades, so finding a good price would help.

What are you guys paying for your 60" Lazer Excaliburs at the dealer?

Try Gator Mulcher Magnum blades on your Exmark, they work better on mine than the OEM ones did.. Just a thought.

I'll try them eventually on the Lazer. I have used Gator mulchers, (not the magnum) on the Yazoo/Kees and the Grasshopper and was never really happy with the cut on St. Augustine. They cut up leaves well though.

I believe the reason eXmark comes out with these new blade designs is so customers feel compelled to buy their blades instead of aftermarket.

You have to buy Excaliburs from eXmark dealers.

You can buy them in the aftermarket right now. Oregon (formerly Silver-Streak) has them listed. They list them as "extended cutting edge" under their Exmark blade section in their latest catalog. They are available with notched or solid airfoils. Oregon/Silver-Streak is an OEM supplier for Exmark blades. ED

Well I went hunting for blades with this recently found info about the Oregon/Silver Streak. Went to a local dealer that sells them and was quoted a price of $14.50 a blade A far cry from the 7 to 8 bucks I have been used to playing for blades for the Kees and other mowers They also sell Rotary, not full length sharpened, and they were almost as crazy on those.

So I called two Exmark dealers. First quoted $12.95 for notched Excaliburs, the second quoted $11.22 each. But neither stock them and want to push the Rotary and Gator blades, which they seem to think are the same as the Excalibur I guess they make more off the aftermarket stuff, so they don't want to mess with Exmark blades.

I don't understand why everyone pushes aftermarket blades. Must be a dealer profit margin. OEM excalibur are actually within the same price, if not less expensive. It makes no sense to me.

As far as buying online. Where you may save money per blade you will get smoked with the shipping charge. Remember these are not feathers they will be shipping.
