You've got it figured out. If Exmark and Exmark's distributor have to get a cut, that equals less profit for the dealer. I have no doubt what EJK2352 wrote is true. The problem is, if you can't sell me a Silver Streak cheaper than Exmark something is wrong. I see no benefit to me in that scenario It seems there are a lot more Rotary dealers around here and the prices vary widely from shop to shop. Silver Streak dealers are hard to come by here.

I know it is the same way around here. But I have learned that sometimes aftermarkets are not the best in price category. The dealer even gets some of the OEM parts cheaper, too. On some things I am a believer in factory parts.
