Good to know. What about the blade speeds on the 48''? I would imagine that it's the same or more?

18,600 fpm on such a short blade is very good. The cut quality of the 48" should be excellent as well.

18,600 fpm blade tip speed on a 16.5" blade (48" deck) is 4300rpm.
18,900 fpm blade tip speed on a 18.5" blade (54" deck) is 3900rpm.

I just purchased a Hustler Raptor Sd 60" yesterday. I've been researching and looking for many months now. I had my mind sort of set on the Toro Titan mx6000 but in the emd didnt quite feel like spending $6000 on a mower right now. The mx6000 is still an awesome mower I think and worth the $6000, but I had just bought a Deere D170 last year. But after using it and comparing it to my Troy bilt zero, I realized its pretty worthless for what I need. Its slow and cuts like crap. Which is what started my commercial mower search. My Hustler dealer is taking the Deere in on a trade so I kill two birds with one stone.
The raptor SD looks like a great mower, Kawasaki engine, 2800 series hydros, (it was going 6.2mph according to my gps) nice fabricated deck, comfy seat, and very commercial looking front spindles amd tires. It should serve me well, because basically I love the Troy bilt 50" zero I have, I just wanted something faster, bigger deck and Kawasaki engine. Good luck in your decision.

Thanks for everyone's input and thoughts so far guys. Pretty sure I'm going to go with the 48'', but now I'm looking at the Bad Boy ZT Elite too.

Have you guys looked into them too? What are your thoughts/impressions of that brand and/or particular model? (And yes, I know... I hate to start another ''BB war''.)

Retrodog is a dealer on here. He's in Texas I think. He can answer any questions just search his name. He's largest volume dealer in country I think

I've been talking to Retrodog back and forth on this very subject for a little while now.

A lot of people bag on them on here just because they are cheaper. Not many people have actual experience with them

One fellow on here was too heavy for his stander and kept popping the front up. That was a dealer problem but everyone made it into a bad boy problem

I know and that's what I was just telling Retro about how everything I read on here is what has me hesitant with the whole BB brand.

I went out and tested both the RSD 48" and the Snapper Pro s50xt 48". I like them both and the dealers are both good. Same turn around time should it need repairs. The Snapper has better hydros and a removable floor pan. Not sure how important a removable floor pan is for maintenance? Also, not sure which deck would be better, the ICD or the Hustler.

Retro said he is out of the RSD models, so I guess they are doing good.
