Help on seeing if a truck is in good shape

Background: I started in my neighborhood and one of my customers moved and wanted my to mow his 7 acre prop!! Guy is loaded and is a great guy and is helping me get other large residential in his neighborhood.

Problem: I do not want to pull an enclosed trailer with my current vehicle because it has a history of transmission problems. I found the truck of my dreams!!!! The issue is it is 2.5 hours away and I do not trust myself with my current knowledge on trucks to make a good decision on if the truck is good under the hood.

Advice I need: How do I check to make sure I do not buy this thing and it is a piece of junk?Good questions I should ask the owner

Specs of the truck: 94' F-150 6 1/2 bed. V8 4x4 regular cab almost rust free. K&N cold air intake, custom stainless duel exhaust, with 4in tips, new shocks, new spark plugs new oil, new oil filter. He wants 4,500.

Always appreciate the input!

There is no magical questions ,as the seller is under no obligation to tell you the truth .I suggest you ask the seller if you can bring it to a shop to have it checked out if you do not have the skills to do it yourself .Do Not go to his shop ,or his buddies shop ,go to a shop you chose .For that kind of money ,the truck would have to be very mint for something that old , probably the pickiest place to bring it would be the local Ford dealer .It will cost you a few bucks ,but might save your bacon if the trucks junk .
