Stupid Sweetgum balls

We mowed several places last week that had a bumper crop of sweetgum balls and apparently one of them got lodged in the blade clutch pulley. This caused the belt to fray and it came off yesterday. I'll be more careful about removing any of the balls from the deck area of the mower next time we mow those places. Deck belts aren't cheap or fun to change in the 90 degree heat!

The next time someone complains about your pricing, ask them how much their barber would charge to come over and cut their hair.

Didn't happen today, but I had a nice property I've maintained for a couple years call earlier this year and said her son is going to start mowing. Not a problem, we can't always keep 100% of the properties from the year prior. I happen to drive by her house today and it's commercially cut. Not once have they complained about the quality, I ask my customers to make sure it's up to satisfaction. I also don't care if I happen to lose 1 $30/wk mow to her son starting to mow. It's the fact that some people now-a-days don't have the guts and would rather lie to you.

That is all. Keep on keeping on everyone.

I hate wind. I mow on a ridge and I am convinced its about the highest point in this county. The worst part about it is the wind blows against the discharge chute and I get absolutely covered in every piece of clipping, dirt, dust etc. I hate it. I have to wear a dust mask just to be able to breath. And Scags aren't exactly the best for trying to avoid the shooting clippings out the front of the deck and into your lap problem, thats actually the only reason I miss my John deere is this. All clippings went out the side where they are supposed to, this new mower shoots it out the side and out and up the front which smacks you in the face and lands in your lap. I know this job isn't clean but dang I never used to have this problem!!!! Whole thing just sucks. Bad day

I had to buy a new battery for the mower. The nickel and dime crap is fun.
