Did a quick search because I could have sworn I purchased a ticket while passing though Alabama. Guess not. http://www.rickeystokesnews.com/arti...a-felony-31249

I wish states would do away with all of them. Nothing but a headache and nothing but a poor mans tax. You never see people with wealth or good investment strategies getting lottery tickets.

It's their money. They can do what they want with it. Your response is maddening. We already live in a nanny state. Don't try and perpetuate that, please.

Lotteries generate hundreds of millions of dollars for their states education system. This is a good thing.

I agree with you that we don't need big brother telling us what to do. My gripe is that you see a majority of these are sold to people who can't afford them to begin with. Now you have people on government assistance gambling away money they could be using in better ways.

I guess this leads me to another rant, people who smoke but can't afford gas for their car. Get to the gas station dropping nearly $200 in fuel to fill all the tanks and a guy walks up and ask to hold a $5 while smoking. I don't think so!

Schools in Alabama make High End Shopping Mall loos pitiful, an yet they still complain they don't have enough $$$$$.

As far as a "lottery" I don't care about it either way. But I can assure there is wayyyyyyyyyy better gaming that would still be "illegal". The lottery is the "nanny state".

In Alabama Im still hoping for "Sunday Beer".
