Salt Damage

We had a great snow season this past winter, which was great. In turn we are also having a pretty good landscape season due to the hard winter and massive amounts of salt we put down, some of which ends up in the landscape.

I'm having a bad problem particularly in a restaurant chain since they are small lots and it's tough to not get a decent amount of salt in landscape beds. I've had the account for 4 years now, and every spring we go in and replace plant material. I'm not complaining about the added work, but it would be nice to offer the customer an alternative.

Has anyone ever put up some kind of screen up to keep salt out of beds that are adjacent to pavement? Is there some kind of commercially made product for this purpose?
