I'm still suspicious of any supposed lack of AC power on job sites. Sometimes it's more about someone unwilling to pull or trench in a hundred-odd feet of wire in a conventional setting.

Yes im a Canuck, and I am an irrigation installer, and im new to the game, but this thread got me thinking of something I may look into this or winter... Maybe ill go back to school and do my master thesis on sustainable irrigation using solar power and rain water. I like how this thread has gone somewhat off topic. I can also look into solar outdoor lighting as chapter three. love learning and bouncing ideas with smart people!
