Chainsaw Maintenance

How often do you guys have to take your chainsaw in for maintenance?

What do you have to get repaired most often?

do your own sharpening, no other maintenance other than to dust out the air filter every once in a while, your frequency of use will dictate the spark plug replacement.

Most you should need is air filter, spark plug, chain, and bar. Also when sharpening the depth teeth need the occasional filling. I bought a stihl all in one so it just takes a hair off during sharpening. The bar can be rotated so it doesn't get grooved so fast on the tip from the limbing pressure point.

I usually only sharpen my saw when I notice it's not cutting very well. I usually check the air filter before I use it and the bar and chain get cleaned every time I store it. Before it gets put away, the bar groove gets cleaned out and I also clean under the clutch cover.

Any ballpark on how many spark plugs you purchase per year?

How about air filters?
