a little deep south striping

good stripes are rare in these parts. normally, grass is cut so short that striping is impossible. but on this one, I mow it at 3.5. the owner went a little crazy with the round up around the house since my last visit, he said he wants it edged by the house, but its gonna take a while to get it to look even and good, since the round up left uneven lines in the grass by the house.
but anyway, I think these are good stripes for where I live. its nowhere near what ive seen from you guys up north, but I think these are okay. I double a small portion for the picture.
Im cutting with a gravely pro turn 260. let me know what you think.

those are the best kind of yards. you don't even have to trim anything. just mow and go and make dough.

Looks good. We even get decent striping results here with centipede if the customer doesn't insist on cutting it extremely short. 2 1/2 inches seems to be a good point for decent striping. I'll have to post some pics of our 8.5 acre centipede property now that we've received some rain.

The next time someone complains about your pricing, ask them how much their barber would charge to come over and cut their hair.

I'd just take that edge on the other side if the roundup. All that's gonna grow there any time soon is crabgrass or the like. You'll b waiting forever. Just take it back a few inches. Stripes look good for down south. That's all we mow is 3.25" at the lowest so we get pretty decent stripes here

Nice! Do you have a roller? I can't get much of a stripe on most warm season turf with my Z Master.

No roller, we run a Snapper Pro ICD deck with the rubber striping flap.

Nice! You don't see any stripes here in north Louisiana either. I've got a few yards I can get some in with my turf tiger.

i love centipede. i wish every lawn was centipede. everyone has bermuda packed with weeds around here for the most part.

but i think technically centipede is a weed. doesn't matter it looks good and keeps all the other weeds out.

I believe centipede actually originated in China and was brought here a long time ago. Contrary to what many think, it is not maintenance-free, but does look great when properly cared for. The pictures I posted are from the largest property we mow, 8.5 acres and it's all centipede
