which type of blower is better?

Do you guys like the backpack blower that has the throttle control on the left side, thus using both hands to blow, or do you prefer the ones with the throttle on the right attached to the blower tube?

I use Stihl. I have a br400, 5 years old and have now problems with it. Now it is called 420. I have not used any others, so I have no opinion of Echo, Kawi, etc...

Pugsly,

I've had both. And I like both. I started out with a trigger throttle on the tube handle. Used that for many years. Then decided I wanted the new Echo PB-650, but it was only available with the hip mounted throttle. Didn't like that idea, as I'm anti-change Got used to it real quick.

Bottom line, they're both nice, but if I had my choice for free.....I choose the trigger handle type. Frees up your left hand by giving your right hand 2 things to do.

I have an Echo PB-602. It has the hip mounted throttle. I prefer this setup. In my area, directly south of Houston in what used to be rice farming country, we don't have as many leaves, generally speaking, as in other areas, so this blower has the right amount of power for me.

I personally like the throttle mounted on the right side on the tube. That is just me but I would suggest that you demo them both and find which one is best for you.

I'm an Echo kind a guy (anti-change) but am looking at the PB 403 vs. the Pb-46. one has the left throttle and cage the other no cage and right throttle.

I'm empowering someone to make my decsision for me

I have a PB603 and actually like the throttle on the tube side, though I would think if I got a 650 with the throttle on the left side that I'd get used to it eventually.

Red Max 7001

I have a Stihl BR 400 and a Redmax 7001.

I think the Redmax is better by far.
