Scag cougar bagging mower

One of my customers has a Scag mower for sale.

Hes not sure what year. 395 original hours.

Its the "Walker" copy from Scag. Everything on it works perfect.

We arent sure of the value, were thinking somewhere between 4-5k$?

It would not be a bargain, even if it were free. That is maybe the worst ZTR mower ever produced, by an American mower manufacturer. I believe Scag had to buy back more than a few of those. Production of that junker did not last long, maybe one or two years. I think Scag tried two different times to produce that type of machine. Both versions were total failures.
It is basically worth scrap iron price, no more.

Funny we have one that we ran for 5 years. The unit is bullet proof from reliability, it used same hydro, wheel motors, clutches as other scag unit. The unit can bag, it can mulch, or side discharge. Keep in mind this unit would compare to units 10 years ago....it bagged right along side our walker. The unit would be worth $1500 to $2000.

You must have gotten the only dependable unit built. congratulations.
If the search feature on this site goes back far enough, you could read all the horrer stories about these machines. I remember that our local Skag dealer sent his inventory of them back to the factory, at the factory's expense.

There may have different levels ours was like picture with electric pto.i have seen models with manual lever. Basic parts look like my turf tiger and they had 25hp kohler. But ours sits in the shed. It would make a good bagging unit for leaves. Not good for mowing by todays standards blade speed toooo low.
