there is a scag turf runner on CL, same as the cougar but came just before from what I understand. I was all excited since it was listed around 2 grand the other day, until I researched it and read nothing but bad. Its a shame cause im a scag man and would have scooped it up for a fall mower.

Here I am!!!

Twas me and TPendiggy were talking about these gems...

Check this one out...

http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/grd/4565889392.html

Now, I would not pay 10 g's for one... even brand new or NOS...

However, I would def pay 5 G's for this one...

The one that your client has looks pretty good too and I would certainly try to get 5 or 6 for it...

Whoever is on here talking sh&* about these machines is smoking crack....

These machines were great.... Back when they were making them Walker had to many patents on the idea so a lot of bugs could not be worked out but make no mistake..... These were not "bad" machines...

There has got to be something wrong with this ad. It doesn't "ad" up. Why would someone have a "new" old machine stored for all these years.. This machine has not been produced for probably 8-10 years.

Dang....

These things are not junk though....

Believe it... I used one this spring for clean ups and while not as responsive as my Walker, still a great machine..

And Mowingman, believe it or not, some folks buy things and never use them.... That's where the whole NOS aphorism came from anyway...

Not quite correct. "NOS" indicates "New Old Stock". It means some item that a store or dealer has had setting UNSOLD in the storeroom somewhere.
If this is for sale by a store, then it could be NOS. If it was sold and an individual is now reselling it, then it is not a NOS item anymore.
Anyway, the whole ad seems strange to me.

Yes sir you are correct...

Just re-read that and I made a mistake...

I meant to say that the situation was similar to NOS....

I will agree with you that it does seem a tad fishy...

10 G's being the main culprit....

It is basically worth scrap iron price, no more.
Well I found another guy that likes his Scag Cougar.

Is that spring sleeve rubbed off from getting on and off the machine?
