Buying new ZTR

I getting ready to buy a Toro Z master either a 17hp 44" for $6000 or a 19hp 52" for $6500. I am still part-time, cutting average size yards. For the money and productivity which is the best buy.

And is this a good machine for the money. Toro has a $0 down, no $ till April deal that is very attractive.

Between those 2, the 19/52 is BY FAR the better value.

I would upgrade to a 23hp Kaw/52.

Toro has more dealers/seemingly looser price controls. I paid less than that for our 62/23. (Full-size Z-Masters)

running a special promo on this model at $5995.
It is built like a bullet, gives a quality cut with no
problems. I highly recommend it.

Bunton has a 60" deck (same company as bobcat)with electric deck lift (awsome gajit)for right at $6200.00..hey did a'll know that the front casters are offset to the right to expose the deck for a little trimming and somthing about the cut.worth a look.

Toro also has a no down payment, no intrest and no payments until april 2001 its a good deal if you quilify

Make sure you demo them before you buy one. Watch out for the Z Master 325 or the 350. Sounds like you are looking at a different unit. The 325 bags simular to a Walker but not near the quality, or ease as far as dumping grass etc.

Which Z Master are you looking at?

Absolutely... Demo the machine and similar machines. $6000 to $7000 is alot of money to find out your machine tears up the lawn on turns, or any other quirks. It's well worth the time to make sure you got the best machine for your money.

I suggest that you go try out a Dixie Chopper. I was dead set on buying a Toro 255 this spring until I worked with a guy who had a 60" D.C. I mowed for a few weeks using his machine so I really got to know it.

You will find the steering controls on a D.C. much easier to operate and far more responsive than a Toro. Toro drives their pumps using a pully and belt from the motor. D.C. drives their pumps with a gearbox. This makes the steering velvet smooth. Toro has shock absorbers on their sticks that help make your arms get bigger.

Also, check out all the additional filters on a D.C. and ask what they do. You will make up the extra cost in increased production. Plus you will be much happier in the long run.
