Sharks & insurance

My insurance agent had a line that I bought into.. If you have minimum insurance and some disaster happens the plaintiffs lawyer sees that you have next to nothing in coverage and they will immediately go after everything that has your name on it. If you have say 1M in insurance the lawyer will go after it and hopefully be satisfied because it is a pain and time consuming endeavor to go after your possessions.
Heres hoping that my insurance is never used.

That's coming from your insurance agent who wants to sell you insurance...the more he sells you, the better off he is.

I doubt many plaintiff's attorneys end up going after people who were only carrying state minumums.

It's a **** shoot for them. It will cost them money to get a judgement against you. The only way they can recover that money is if you have money...and they won't be able to find out if you have money until after they've already won a law suite.
