Calcium Silicate

Does anyone know anything about or have experience using calcium silicate on turfgrass?

My local fertilizer provider was really talking it up about this product - says that I should use it in place of lime, that among many other benefits it raises ph as well as increases plant turgicity and resistance to drought and insects.

It costs considerably more than lime (~$12.00/50 lb.), but if it works as well as he says it might be worth it. I was planning to experiment on part of my own lawn to see, but thought I might ask you guys if you've ever used it.

Any info is appreciated.
