You can do it a few ways BUT CHECK your local and state laws, you can hire a person who knows the trade and have them purchase general liability insurance for contractors and then you stay away from workers comp insurance becuse then you are subcontracting the work out, the other is to employ them part time seasonal workers insurance runs around $800 season $1200 yearly I might lean towards getting insurance alot less headaches if something goes wrong.

Contract Labor!

Depending upon how many hours a person is needed to work will determine if this could be a solution for you.

If they are only part time you will not have to provide insurance, but you will need to check on workmans comp and the tax issue and find out what the hour break is and make sure they don't go over that.Get someone through a temp agency is not cheap because they pay all those things you are wondering if you have to pay and "pass the savings on to you".

If i go through a temp agency it will cost me $13.99 (They worry about the taxes and insurance) an hour with a 4 hour minimum, at this point i will need someone 8 hours a week right now.

This seems like decent option assuming that the task is watched by you .Most temps can't gurentee the same person will return so you may only get one or two decent workers and a bunch of bad ones. Hope they do not do more damage than money they make you.

How much were you planning on paying per hour if you hired them yourself?

I was looking to hire someone in the 8 to 10 dollar range. Then i got to thinking that if i hire at 10.00 dollars and pay workmans comp and all the other stuff i would be putting out about the same as i would pay them. The big differance is they have all the head aches and do all the payroll and worry about the other stuff all i have to do is put them to work. And they will be working with me all the time so watching them is not a problem.
