I give up!

OK.........been using the new Echo trimmer for a month and still not real happy with the head. Someone.......somewhere....posted that you have to have an adapter to install a Stihl head on the Echo. Where can I get one? Is there a part number available?

Once I get this done then I'll have the perfect trimmer.

I used to work for a Stihl dealer and we sold many heads for Echo's.
It is a Stihl part # for the adapter.
I am sorry but I dont have it, any larger good Stihl dealer should have it in stock

Later

Thanks for the info..........that was quick!

I love this site just for that reason..............now that I know I'll be on my way to my local Stihl dealer to get one.

Good luck with your new Echihl. What did you not like about the head on the Echo. Have a stihl 85 that is two months old and so fare have had three carbs, two modules and today am trying it out with the new short block they put on yesterday. If it is still a disappointment was going to head to the Echo dealer.

Thanks
Rhett

Needed a part for a Stihl FS85 yesterday and they tried to sell me echo conversion kit ... didn't go for it. What is the problem with the echo heads?

We have mostly kaw 26A ... I picked up another one yesterday.
Only flaw with the Kaw's is the plastic parts around the engine ... I think they are working on that.
Never had our stihl apart so I don't really know the machine .. I now know the kaw's pretty darn good as I have had it stripped down pretty much to nothing replaced some gears in one of the heads etc etc ... now that I am comfortable repairing them it's tough to change brands.

Another question Ö what do you feel is the life expectancy of a trimmer is? Iím happy with 2 years although ours are going on to 3-4.
