Magna-Matic 8000 or 9000 for Exmark Blades

I need to buy a blade sharpener
I am buying the Magna-Matic

I currently have Sutch Stealth Mowers. I can use the Magna-Matic 9000 to sharoen those blades. But I am buying 3 New Exmarks.

I have seen the pics of the Exmark Mulching Blades and it looks likes the edges and corners need to be sharpened.

Do I need the Magna-Matic 8000 to sharpen those blades.
I was told that SCAG blades need the 8000

Do EXMARKS need the 8000 also.


One last thing
When will Magna-Matic make a grit guard with a vacume attachment for the Magna-Matic 8000

They make the Magna-Matic 9001 has a vacume grit guard.
When will the 8000 become the 8001 withe vacume grit guard

The way to choose the MAG-9000 or MAG-8000 is based on if the cutting edge of the blade has bends in it. Making it look wavey - sometimes people call it a wavey blade. Those wavey (mulching) blades can only be done by the MAG-8000.

I would not say all of one brand mower needs a certian sharpener - it really depends on the blade. Every brand uses different blades with different models, and they change this often.

The MAG-8000 can do just about any blade.

Where the MAG-9000 will only do straight conventional blades.

There is no MAG-8001 because the MAG-8000 comes standard with a vacuum grit guard, it has been standard since the model was introduced. (1999) Just a side note the MAG-8000 now offically holds 3 US Patents for its design, making it the most patented sharpener in the industry.
