pond water loss?

whats the average water loss with pond (125 gallon) with small waterfall with 90 degree temps? have a customer who keeps argueing that her liner has a hole in. one day i monitored it and loss about 1/4 inch. she calls up 2 days later and says she lost about 2 inches with in 8 hours. i've been keeping an eye on it over the weekend here. its been in the 90's the past three days. it lost about 1 inch in 24 hours yesterday. myself i believe that it evaporation. :blob1:

1" IN 24 HRS IN A 125GAL POND?
POSSIBLY EVAPORATION.
YOU MIGHT CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE WATERFALL IS
NOT LOSING IT.

Yes, the waterfall is prime area of water loss. Also if in the full sun, evaporation.

All ponds will lose some water to evaporation, like any other body of water. In 90+ degrees of full sun. Customer has to get off her "butt" and get the hose to it.

We have 2 that size at our house.

I loose at least 1/4" per day in ninety degree weather, if not 1/2".

Our water spouts over drilled boulders, which increases surface area for evaporation.
