Basimid is a soil fumigant. Under ideal conditions, one can fumigate noxious weed content in the soil, then apply a sterilant like Sahara for longer control.
In the growing conditions where I operate, I have not been able to get more than three to four months of control with Sahara - not the nine months to a year I have heard other LCO's achieving.
Other than what I mentioned, I am not aware of any additional soil sterilants

A grandular form herbicide called Bareground BD is reported to be good with quick burndown. No personal experience though. I've always used sahara mixed with 2% roundup pro to speed the process.

i switched from pramitol to sahara a few years ago. from areas that i spray, i am getting 8 to 10 months of control. if the weeds are bad i will apply scythe to the mix to burn down the weeds. using glyphosate would be wasteful because once the sahara activates the weeds won't grow. however the quick burn down of scythe will provide a cleaner look.

I've mixed glyphosate with sahara to get a faster response since sahara normally takes 3 weeks. I like your recommendation on scythe. Seems to be a better alternative.
