Time to fertilizing the lawn

When is the best time to start fertilizing the lawn and overseeding for the winter monthes? Could anyone please help and tell what fertilizer to use in the Kentucky area?

After overseeding and putting down starter fertilizer, how soon can I put an application down for winterizing (18-2-18)?

Well, I would wait until after the seeds have grown into grass you have mowed twice. After the second mow, then you can treat the grass as you would the rest of the lawn.

Some people may disagree with my approach, but that is what I would do.

Thank you everyone. Seeds are already starting to germinate after 6-7 days. How tall do I let tall fescue grow before the first cut?
