Seems some of the single stage models have been recalled, because they catch fire! I guess that's one way to get rid of the snow!

A potential fire hazard exists on 3 and 5 horsepower Single-Stage snowblowers manufactured in 1997 and 1999. A leak was discovered where the fuel tank outlet fitting is threaded into the tank."

If you have one, they will repair it free they say.... (Unless it's toast already, and you junked it;) )
