Texas Dealer,
I use a similar product called Adams Earth made by PLANT FOOD COMPANY in cranbury N.J. It has the sugars, hormones, humic acid...ect. I add it to my deep root feeding program when organic matter is <5 % and also on sandy soil with Low Cation Exchange. It works Very well under these conditions!

Essential Plus seems to be a fantastic product. Don't know about the price but the ingredients are right up my alley. Read about it at...
http://www.forestry-suppliers.com/t0...20FOD%2003.pdf

Companion, on the other hand, is a "one-note Johnny." It has one bacterium in it, and who knows if your soil needs it? Read about that product at...
http://www.growthproducts.com/docs/c...ulant_turf.pdf

Then there is this quote in the blurb,
Companion is a unique liquid microbial inoculant containing beneficial soil bacteria spores (Bacillus subtilis GB03). It is the only patented liquid microbial product, and the unique formulation keeps the spores stable for more than two years.

The reason this is the only patented product is the other manufacturers are smart enough to not divulge their methods of extracting and storing microbe spores. When you patent your process, you divulge the process. Ask Colonel Sanders about patenting your process!!

Companion will be labeled as a bio fungicide, if it hasn't been already that is. It has tested greater than 50% control on many lawn diseases. Very cheap product as well. Also claims to reduce the amount of chemical fungicides applied per k if mixed with them. I guess thats why they call it Companion. Growth products seems to be a quality company. Nice website too.

$190 for 2.5 gallons comes to $2.37 per thousand square feet @ 4 oz per K if my math is correct. $2.37 is cheap compared to many fungicides.
