Urgent Help Please

I have someone who is selling a 1999 ENCORE 61" 27HP liqued cooled mower with 265 hrs for $4k...is this a good deal and is this a good mower? I only have Ferris and Toro experience. Also, I love the cut job of the 48" and 52" look....would I be sacrificing quality by going this big?

Dont sound to bad, but I am not that familiar with Encore. you can still get good cut with large mower. all about ground speed and blade cutting edge.

That does sound ok. The quality will be there as long as that engine is up to par. In my experience, the 1 thing to consider is for every 1 problem with a air-cooled count on 3 or 4 with liquid cooled. That's just what I experienced, maybe others have had better luck with them. Tell the seller that you would like to have it inspected by your service mechanic prior to buying...If they say no, might be the red flag right there. If they say ok, it's worth the $ to check it. It's your $ in the long run. Hate to drop $4g and get nothing but problems. Jim
