Merit (Imidicloprid) is not a RUP. It carries the "Caution" designation and is labeled by the EPA as a general use pesticide.

I just took the general standards today with out the DVD and passed. What a relief. Now I'm on to the Turf and Ornamental. I'm only doing one at a time so I can focus and hopefully retain a lot of this stuff. I'll be checking out that DVD for the next test though. I appreciate the heads up.

Perhaps I did not make that clear earlier? Then my bad... yes Merit is not RUP as per the EPA.

Seriously, if you folks have allowed your locals to ban a pesticide such as Merit, then you might as well give up the rest. When the Emerald Ash Borer comes to NY (and it will), you will be praying for Merit.

You have some difficulty with comprehension? It's RUP, not prohibited. Do you understand the difference? It showed up in the aquifer system 3 1/2 years after it was introduced. A combination of over use, over application, a high desnity of surburban lawns and a sandy loam soil that leaches quickly. I'm glad the home owners can't get it anymore. I wish more stuff was RUP.
