Will Belt Drive Pull a sulky
Will a Bunton 12 HP Onan 48" Belat Drive be able to pull a Sulky or no?

Thats fine i can walk up an incline but you think it will pull me around good? i weight 270 pounds

no way, it would barely pull me slower than i can walk and I weigh 190 it would just be faster to walk..

I have a 48'' scag with a 15 kohler and a toro with a 15 kawasaki and i use a velke on both with no problems and im about your size

No offense intended, but 270 lbs concentrated on 1 or 2 small tires might leave some nasty ruts. Just my opinion...

We have 12.5 Kawi on a 36" belt ,and a 17 kawi on a 48" belt, lots of uneven terrain and hills,jungle wheels sulkies, and ours do just fine.By the way, the lightest guy in our crew is 225lbs.We have no problems with rutting, either.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_8_6.gif' border=0></a>

I dunno impact.........A 12 hp Onan is pushin it with a 270 lber on board.....
I would try an get a little more hp, if you haven't already gotten the Onan.......

WHoa! Thanx bastalker--->Sorry, I thought it was a 36" deck, it seems already under powered w/ a 12HP on a 48" deck, let alone trying to ride a sulky even at 170lbs...Get a bigger mower / motor combo if you haven't already purchased this mower.....pay no attention to my previous post...I think I'm slowly going crazy waiting for spring!!

I run a single wheel velke on my Scag 48" belt drive with 15 Kohler.... no problems, Hills are OK too.....
HOWEVER.. I only weigh 160.... I would think it might be OK on level lawns.. but hills or tall/heavy growth and you probably will have a problem.
