11,000 flyers

In the past two weeks the weather here warmed up a little but the ground was to wet to work so we started passing out our flyers.I put 10,000 in the local newspaper hand delivered about 500 and sent out 600 post cards by direct mail. The day the flyers hit the paper we got 3 inches of snow now today they are calling for 8-14 inches of snow.I was able to give about 5 estimates but my question to everyone is do you think people will hold on to my flyers or toss them in the trash?I was hoping for at least a 1% response. These flyers have some valuable coupons on them.

that's a hard question. My gut tells me that they will forget about them until the grass is green, and all the snow is gone. We got some snow up here too, and I am glad I waited a bit to hand mine out. Hope for the best, but maybe get another round going out.

Thats about what I was thinking, but I am still hoping for the best
and that people that know what they are looking for will call and at least get an estimate and let me get my foot in the door.
My coupons are
1 Free aeration with season contract
2$20 off spring clean-up
3.$20 of 4 yards or more of mulch

Topher
That happened to me last year I went to give an estimate and the guy had my flyers from the two previous years stapled together.

Is that not awesome when that happens? It gave me a good feeling to think they held on to my flier for that long

we handed out flyers early when it was still freezing outside and we got some calls from those people about 3-4 weeks after we handed them the fliers. and ours is just basic black and white. i think there was snow on the ground. and now its march and its snowing in NY and we got 2 calls today i honestly think its all random on the person and the area

The smart customers will hold on to them. People that call early are the best customers. Some have been burned in the past by calling later in the season and not getting the work done in the time of the season they wanted it done. Once the weather stays nice for a couple of days the phone will be ringing of the hook. I try to get my postcards out gradually, rather than sending them all out at once.
