maple tree stump mulch

dad had a bunch of maple tree stumps ground.

can i use this mulch around trees? they were freshly cut. not sure if that matters.

its not perfectly clean there is some dirt in there.

its for personal use. i have some starter trees from the county i need to transplant from my tree plot. will this work around the trees to keep the weeds down?

You should be fine using maple mulch.
