New mower purchase
I need some HELP....I am looking to buy a new ZTR for my personal use. I have 5 acres to cut with some hills, and have come to the final two choices....I think. Its between a Dixie Chopper or a Hustler Z.. Which one is better and why.. They are both about the same price $5999 I like the looks of the Hustler because it looks built better but.....Dixie were the best 10 years ago.... Any help would be appreciated

In my opinion the Hustler is built like a TANK...Not a ton of bells and whistles like some others, but a great mower...
The only other consideration I would think about is service in case something happens to either one you purchase... Just my .02!

I had a Super Z as a loaner waiting for my walk-behind to come in. I can tell you this it was great on my hills!!! A friend of mine is a LCO in my town and he has a Dixie, Kubota and a Ferris. He said the Ferris was best hands down on the hills. The Dixie wasn’t very good until he put the meaty tires on it.
My suggestion would be to demo each one on your property and see which one you like the best. Super Z runs 15 mph. When your not mowing you can have a blast with it! The super Z is worth the extra money in my books. (It has a suspension seat) remember dealer support is very important no matter what brand you choose. Good luck! Jeff

I have gone to both of the Dealers and seem to have a good service area. The Hustler dealer is 10 miles away and will service D.C.
The D.C. dealer looks like..... they need a new place.. I like the height adjustment better on the Hustler... I like the feedback I hear on the D.C. Thanks, Jeff |

Hi Jeff,
You have dealers for the wright sentar in the Indy area. They are great on hills, maybe worth a demo? This is as good a price as I've come across for them. http://www.outdoorpowerstore.com/wri...er/sentar.html Mark |
