What Truck?
Ok, we all have our favorites, but which truck REALLY IS the workhorse? Vote on your favorite, and if its the truck (or one of the trucks) you have, post the current mileage, significant repairs, etc.

If it wasn't for the tranny problems, I have in all my Fords, they would get my vote, but my chev's, are bullet proof ( knock wood )

I have a 94 Gmc K1500 with 360,000 km, it has been a great truck. I have had about 6 starters in it but that is about the worst problem with it. The 1994 has been so good I just bought a 1995 K2500 except this one is an ext cab it has 195,000 km on it. I have a few things to do on the newer truck but if it is half as good as the old truck I'll be happy.

I’m a Ford man.
First truck- 1990 F250 ¾ ton with a 351 V8 EFI, 5 spd ZF manual and now has 196,000 miles (could be 296,000 as it was a fleet truck) the engine on it is tired but it was ran hard before I got it and I cleaned it out regularly. Current truck (selling the F250)- 1989 Ford F350 1 ton with a 460 big block V8 EFI, 3 spd C6 automatic, dually, 8x12’ flatbed, has 162,000 miles. Both are/have been excellent work horses and the F250 would hold its own against most trucks on the street. The F350 I haven’t raced (and don't plan on it), but it really moves on out as well. They both pull pretty good, the F250 handled the trailer just fine but like I said it was a bit tired out. The F350 doesn’t even know it’s there. I had 1.5 ton of barn lot waste loaded on it yesterday and it didn’t really seem to notice that either. One thing about these older Fords, they will pass anything but a gas station! Got 9.5-12.5 mpg in the F250 and I expect I will get about 7-10 in the F350 (just got it a couple days ago haven’t got to check mileage yet but I’m working on it).

Pre 1992 Dodge trucks with the Cummins diesel get my vote. I have to search a bit harder to find them, but they are worth the effort. Plenty of power and no trans problems.

This is an 89 Dodge with 390,000 miles on it. Still runs great and gets about 15mpg pulling the equipment.
