Mower for gated community

Many of my yards have small gates to large back yards (35.5"). Am I better off with a 32inch gravely walk behind or a 34z rider? Does anyone use either of these mowers? The dealer is talking me out of a walk behind because the front end is too light to pull a sulky and I may burn the small tranny up.

Just starting out, and new to the equipment, so forgive a dumb reply, but I had no idea there were decent 32 - 34 inch commercial mowers that would fit through an average fence. What is the average cost of one of these mowers - new/used? And if you cut the gated back yard with a 32 inch mower, do you do the front with the 32 as well, in order to be consistent with the mowing width?
Thanks,
BoHog
