F-150 wheel

ok, for the past coulpe days the front left wheel on my F-150 has been making a knocking sound. And the front right wheel was grinding like my brake pad was rubbing. My brake light was on so i just figured it was the brakes. but then yesterday i was on the highway pulling my trailer and my front right wheel just fell off. I think someone might have loosened my lug nuts. Anyone know what could have caused my lugnuts to loosen up or my wheel to fall off? Could it be related to pulling a trailer? Thanks for the help.

A wheel "falling" off is not a real common problem but not unheard of. Inspect the wheel itself and look real close at the holes where the wheel studs come through. If the holes are elongagted and torn up, chances are the wheel has been working its way loose for a while. If they look round and clean, chances are someone screwed ya! Anytime the lugnuts are removed or loosened, they should be retorqued after 50 miles to make sure they havent come loose.
